NSB Omega is looking for a Completions Engineer for our MAJOR Oil & Gas Client in St. John's, NL.
Assignment DescriptionKey Responsibilities- Design and execute hydraulic fracturing, stimulation, and completion programs for horizontal and vertical wells
- Develop detailed completion procedures, AFE estimates, and operational schedules
- Monitor daily completion activities and provide engineering support during field operations
- Analyze completion and production data to optimize well performance and reduce costs
- Coordinate with service companies, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure operational efficiency
- Track KPIs related to stage efficiency, pump rates, fluid systems, proppant usage, and production results
- Support post-job evaluations and prepare technical reports and presentations
- Ensure compliance with company HSE standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
- Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and long-term field development planning
- Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in completion designs and execution strategies
QualificationsRequired- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline
- 3-8 years of completions engineering experience in oil & gas operations
- Experience with hydraulic fracturing and unconventional shale plays
- Strong understanding of well stimulation, completion tools, and downhole equipment
- Proficiency with engineering and analytics software (FracPro, WellView, Spotfire, Aries, etc.)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to travel to field locations as required
Preferred- Experience in the Permian Basin, Eagle Ford, Bakken, or other unconventional plays
- Knowledge of production optimization and reservoir performance analysis
- Experience managing vendors and service providers
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus
