The Opportunity The
Compensation Application Specialist is responsible for managing and supporting compensation-related software applications within HR. This role ensures the effective operation, configuration, and maintenance of compensation systems, collaborates with HR and IT teams, and provides technical expertise to optimize compensation processes. The specialist will play a pivotal role in transitioning current technologies to Oracle's HCM Fusion platform, ensuring a seamless integration to support organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities- Strong understanding of compensation principles (base pay, incentives, merit cycles, bonuses, equity, job architecture, pay bands)
- Configure, maintain, and support compensation applications and related modules, ensuring optimal performance and user experience.
- Partner with HR, IT, and payroll departments to analyze compensation workflows and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Manage system upgrades, patches, and enhancements, coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Provide technical support to end users, resolving application issues and answering system-related questions.
- Develop and maintain documentation for compensation systems, including user guides, process maps, and training materials.
- Ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance within compensation applications, conducting regular audits and reconciliations.
- Assist in the implementation of new compensation programs and technologies, including testing, training, and user adoption.
- Lead the transition of existing compensation technologies and stand-up Oracle HCM, collaborating across teams to facilitate integration and adoption.
- Generate and analyze compensation reports to support HR decision-making and organizational objectives.
- Provide additional team coverage for Core HR module and Total Reward Statements.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience supporting annual compensation planning cycles, including merit, bonus, and incentive programs
- Hands on experience administering and configuring compensation modules within HR systems such as:
- Oracle Fusion HCM
- Workday
- SAP SuccessFactors
- Ability to translate compensation policies into system configuration
- Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve configuration, data, or process issues
- Experience with end-to-end testing (unit, integration, UAT) for compensation processes
- Ability to plan, execute, and document end-to-end testing of system functionality to ensure business requirements are met and defects are identified before deployment.
- Ability to explain complex compensation system logic to non-technical stakeholders
- Understanding of role-based security and data privacy related to compensation
- Experience partnering with IT, Payroll, Finance, and HR COEs
- Ability to document and improve compensation system processes
Minimum Qualifications- 5 years relevant years of experience
