Position Description:

The Compensation and Workforce Partner supports the administration, analysis, and continuous improvement of the organization's compensation and workforce planning programs. This role partners with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, HR Operations, and business leaders to provide market-informed compensation analysis, workforce insights, and operational support that enable effective talent and workforce decisions.

Using market data, workforce analytics, and established compensation practices, the position supports salary administration, job architecture, workforce reporting, position management, and internal equity reviews. The role plays a key part in maintaining accurate workforce and compensation data, supporting strategic workforce initiatives, and helping ensure compensation programs remain competitive, consistent, and aligned with organizational objectives.

Operating in a highly collaborative environment, the Compensation and Workforce Partner combines data analysis, attention to detail, and customer service to support compensation programs, workforce planning activities, and HR initiatives that contribute to organizational success. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in compensation, workforce analytics, market pricing, and workforce planning while partnering with leaders across the organization.

Day-to-Day Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support the administration of compensation programs, processes, guidelines, and tools in accordance with the organization's compensation philosophy and governance practices.
  • Assist with market pricing for new, revised, and existing positions using approved compensation survey sources and market data.
  • Review job descriptions, job requirements, and organizational information to support job evaluation, market benchmarking, and compensation analysis.
  • Maintain job descriptions, job architecture records, salary grade information, survey matches, and related documentation.
  • Support annual salary administration activities, including merit planning, promotional increase reviews, salary structure maintenance, and compensation data validation.
  • Assist with internal equity reviews by preparing compensation analyses, identifying trends, and summarizing findings for HR leadership.
  • Support compensation survey participation, market analysis, and competitiveness reviews that inform compensation decisions and salary structure maintenance.
  • Prepare compensation and workforce reports, analytics, staffing summaries, dashboards, and headcount reporting to support workforce planning and business decisions.
  • Support workforce planning activities through workforce reporting, position management, and workforce data maintenance.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partners to support requisition tracking, position documentation, hiring activities, and compensation reviews.
  • Support compensation reviews for job offers, promotions, transfers, and other employee pay actions in accordance with established guidelines and approval processes.
  • Maintain accurate compensation, workforce, and organizational data within HR systems and approved tracking tools.
  • Assist with HR process documentation, workflows, and procedural guides to support consistency, governance, and audit readiness.
  • Provide operational and project support through reporting, communications, meeting coordination, presentation preparation, and document management.
  • Respond to compensation, workforce, and HR process inquiries, escalating more complex matters as appropriate.
  • Support internal audits, external audits, compliance reviews, and data requests by gathering documentation, validating information, and preparing requested materials.
  • Identify opportunities to improve compensation, workforce, and HR administrative processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and consistency.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required to support the effective operation of the department and organization.

This role requires a combination of analytical, organizational, and customer-service skills, including:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Two (2) to four (4) years of experience supporting compensation programs, market pricing, salary administration, workforce analytics, or related Human Resources functions.
  • Experience working with compensation data, salary survey information, job descriptions, salary structures, and workforce data.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, filtering, sorting, and data validation.
  • Experience preparing reports, analyses, dashboards, and data summaries for leadership or business stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines while maintaining data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain data and findings to a variety of audiences.

Preferred:
  • Professional certification such as Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Professional in Human Resources (PHR), SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), or another relevant compensation, analytics, or Human Resources certification.
  • Experience using compensation survey tools and market data sources such as Mercer, Radford McLagan, or comparable platforms.
  • Experience supporting compensation programs, including salary administration, merit planning, and pay review processes.
  • Experience supporting job architecture, workforce planning, headcount reporting, and position management activities.
  • Experience using HR, compensation, recruiting, reporting, or data management systems.
  • Experience supporting audit, compliance, or governance-related activities.
