Full Job Description
Summary of Primary Functions

This individual will focus on key accounts sales, customer relationship development and strengthening, and also provide corporate leadership in managing the John Deere Compact Construction Equipment product portfolio. The role will help develop and implement the sales plan, along with coaching our sales force. This position will be responsible for the achievement of marketing objectives and profitability of the CCE sales department. The CCE Sales Manager is also responsible for ensuring that the after-sale product support needs of our customers are met. This position will require at least 50% travel within the Dobbs Equipment territory and occasional travel outside of territory for training.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: May include some or all the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Demonstrate leadership in all aspects of the Sales Department and the organization.
  • Must be able to direct and motivate a professional team to accomplish the company's growth and quality objectives. Able to lead multi-level staff and bring out the best in people.
  • Responsible for helping recruit and hire CCE account managers.
  • Train and coach CCE account managers through sales process
  • Perform research and acquire information on target customers, develop goals, quota's forecasts, analyze sales statistics and develop sales campaigns.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction. Work with the sales team to know the customer's expectations both today and the future.
  • Work closely with vendor representatives to maximize incentives and programs for increased market share.
  • Accept responsibility as the final source of the sales departments' problems as they can affect whole goods transactions.
  • Must have an open-door policy with all account managers form branches.
  • Communicate with sales team on a daily basis.
  • Provide feedback to reinforce or redirect performance so that the employees can be successful.
  • Study departmental as well as store financials monthly.
  • Understand P & L, balance sheet and Quarter Forecast. Ability to accurately forecast and budget.
  • Participate in community and industry involvement.

  • Valid Drivers License
  • Equipment Sales experience


Technical Skills & Knowledge: Specialized skills, knowledge and abilities needed to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Knowledge of AOR/ Customers /alliance partners, finance programs and products. (Performs more complex functions, understands principles, may teach others.)
  • Broad based business, sales, CRM and marketing skills. (Performs more complex functions, understands principles, may teach others.)
  • Knowledge of heavy machinery dealer business practices, ideally including the practices followed at John Deere dealerships. (Has an expert understanding of the principles, can apply the information to complex situations, solve complex problems, conduct research/break new ground, develop new applications, and provide expert support for other practitioners.)
  • Willing to travel into difficult environments and/or for extended periods of time.


Education, Skill, and/or Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent from four-year college or a minimum of 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Driver's License and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with teammates and customers
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to self-manage/self-motivate.
  • PC literate, proficient with MS Office, with an emphasis in Excel and Outlook required.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Quick learner with the ability to think out of the box.
  • Extensive driving required; overnight travel required
  • Bilingual a plus.
