Full Job Description
The Community Mitigation Program Coordinator (SO) supports the Jefferson County Wildland Fire Community Engagement incentive programs, which provides financial assistance for home hardening and creating defensible space for homeowners and communities throughout Jefferson County. The program aims to reduce the risk of structure loss during wildland fires and strengthen overall community wildfire resilience.

Description:

Salary Ranges from $32.25 to $48.37 per hour

  • Assists in the development and administration of the Jefferson County Wildland Fire Community Engagement incentive program establishing parameters, processes, and goals.
  • Educates homeowners on program opportunities, processes homeowner and community applications and provides homeowner support.
  • Prepares award notifications and corresponding agreements to successful applicants.
  • Works with procurement and finance staff to process financial awards.
  • Corresponds with program awardees, tracks project expenditures and timelines.
  • Reconciles program expenditures and revenues.
  • Utilizes complex software applications for program implementation, reporting and analysis.
  • Compiles and tracks project and program data.
  • Develops and maintains reports, memorandums, all related program documents and correspondence.
  • Serves as a liaison between the county and community organizations, including service providers, government agencies, and citizens regarding the program details.
  • Partners with Community Engagement Program staff on project status and to expand incentive program opportunities while adapting to changing conditions, and citizen needs.
  • Collaborates with the Grants Specialist on future funding opportunities to support and expand the fiscal capability of the program.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business management, public administration, project management, or finance.
  • Experience in Project Management, Accounting, or Grant Management

Incumbent should demonstrate knowledge or experience with the following:

  • Basic accounting skills and ability to work with spreadsheets and learn software applications
  • Ability to work with diverse audience of homeowners and partners
  • Wildfire risk mitigation concepts including defensible space and home hardening practices
  • Demonstrated planning and prioritizing skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication
