Full Job Description
Community Growth Manager

fal has a large community of developers, creative technologists, hackers, and creators building at the frontier of generative media. We're looking for someone to grow that community across every channel and turn it into a thriving network, both online and in person.

You'll own community growth across events, hackathons, creator competitions, webinars, Discord, Reddit, and developer content like demos, prompt guides, and walkthroughs. The goal is to find and engage the best builders in generative media, give them reasons to keep building with fal, and create a community that compounds over time.

You should be technical enough to speak the same language as engineers, creative enough to jam with creators, and deeply excited about generative media. This role sits on the Marketing team and works closely with our model partners, customers, and the broader fal community.

Must Have
  • Experience building a developer, creator, or technical community program from the ground up, ideally at a fast-growing startup.
  • Deep familiarity with and enthusiasm for generative media across image, video, audio, and multimodal models.
  • Technical enough to work comfortably with APIs, models, developer tools, and engineers.
  • Strong creative instincts and an understanding of what excites creators, hackers, and creative technologists.
  • Experience running hackathons, meetups, workshops, webinars, competitions, or other developer programs.
  • Comfortable creating hands-on resources like demos, tutorials, prompt guides, and example projects.
  • Resourceful, scrappy, and proactive; you see something that should exist and make it happen.
  • Strong relationship builder and comfortable representing fal online and in person.

Key responsibilities
  • Build and own fal's developer relations and community program across online and in-person channels.
  • Develop a network of power users, hackers, creators, and creative technologists who test new fal tools, provide feedback, and build things we can showcase.
  • Own Discord and Reddit and recurring programming including monthly events, workshops, webinars, hackathons, and creator competitions.
  • Create demos, example projects, prompt guides, tutorials, and walkthroughs that help developers get more out of fal.
  • Support model and product launches through community activations, demos, challenges, early access, and technical content.
  • Partner with Engineering, model partners, and customers on community programs and surface developer feedback back to the team.
  • Find and amplify interesting builders and projects across the fal ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with Marketing on launches, content, and in-person programming.

Nice to have
  • Existing network across generative AI, creative technology, AI filmmaking, or developer tools.
  • Experience working with model labs, open-source communities, AI startups, or developer platforms.
  • Comfortable building small prototypes with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar tools.
  • Experience creating technical content, speaking, presenting, or running workshops.
  • A track record of building things yourself: side projects, creative experiments, open source, or hackathon projects.

What we offer at fal
  • Interesting and challenging work
  • Competitive salary and equity
  • A lot of learning and growth opportunities
  • We offer visa sponsorship and will help you relocate to San Francisco.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance (US)
  • Regular team events and offsites
