Job Summary: The Community Development Director leads the City's community development, planning, economic development, parks and recreation, building inspection, code enforcement, and GIS functions. The Director oversees staff and budgets, land use and development activities, supports City boards and commissions, and works with residents, businesses, developers, and government agencies. The position also serves as Zoning Administrator and helps advance the City's long-term growth and development goals.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or a related field with urban planning coursework and seven years of progressively responsible urban planning and economic development experience, including supervisory responsibilities, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A related master's degree, economic development certification, and AICP designation are preferred.
