This role supports the team's proactive public relations plans by building stakeholder relationships; leading earned, paid, social and owned media strategies; planning experiential events; and managing reactive issues.

You must have a strong track record in consumer, corporate, and/or B2B public relations, ideally in an agency setting or in house in a media-facing role, with knowledge of local reporters, content creators, stakeholders, and community leaders and a proven track record of building strong external relationships. Internally, you will work closely with other communications teams in Canada and internationally, as well as Public Policy, Retail, Advertising, and Operations business teams, to manage programs and craft compelling stories for external and internal audiences.

To be successful in this role you will need excellent communications skills, writing ability, initiative, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves. You should have experience delivering results with high standards under tight deadlines, with a track record of creativity and flexibility, ideally in a complex organization.

Key job responsibilities

• Develop and drive communications plans, programs, and content in support of Amazon's business and corporate reputation

• Provide communications counsel to business leaders
• Manage reputational issues

• Develop creative, effective approaches to difficult communications challenges

• Pay painstaking attention to detail
• Manage a high volume of requests and competing deadlines
