COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER, School of Engineering - MIT Introduction to Technology, Engineering, and Science (MITES) , supports the program, which has delivered rigorous, transformative STEM education for more than 50 years. MITES has served over 400 underserved and under-resourced middle and high school students from local communities and across the nation through intensive Saturday, summer residential, and virtual programs. Reports to the Executive Director and executes strategic communications and marketing initiatives that advance program goals and strengthen the MITES brand; creates compelling, original content; writing, editing, and proofreading communications materials; coordinating promotional campaigns and event signage; and ensuring consistent messaging across platforms; drives awareness of MITES programs, highlights student and program impact, and increases engagement among key stakeholders; and through effective storytelling and targeted outreach, the Communications Manager supports fundraising efforts, expands visibility, and helps attract future participants, partners, and donors.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, media, visual arts, or a related field; at least four years of communications, marketing, or related experience; and flexibility to work a varied schedule with occasional evenings and weekends supporting MITES in-person and virtual programming, alumni engagement, and fundraising events throughout the year. PREFERRED: MIT experience; exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including AP style proficiency; demonstrated success in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments managing multiple priorities and deadlines; expertise overseeing the full content lifecycle from strategy and planning through production and delivery; and experience creating impactful content for higher education, nonprofit, or academic organizations.
