Job Description:

This job is responsible for influencing results as a strategic, trusted partner to a line of business and/or senior management leaders by designing and executing enterprise-wide and line of business communications strategies and messaging. Key responsibilities include leading high-priority communication initiatives, programs, and projects, and/or creating engaging and impactful messaging for employees. Job expectations include serving as a control partner and supporting growth strategies through the company's brand, reputation and business plans.

This job is responsible for supporting the company's response to significant business, technology, operational, continuity and local market issues that may affect the company's operations, reputation, employees, clients or communities across the U.S. The role serves as a strategic, trusted communications partner, helping leaders and key stakeholders assess impacts, determine communications needs and deliver clear, timely and effective messaging during rapidly evolving situations.

The Business Continuity team provides centralized communications support for crisis response, issue readiness and business continuity. Key responsibilities include leading high-priority communications initiatives, programs and projects, and creating engaging and impactful messaging in high-pressure environments.

This role requires someone who is comfortable operating in high-pressure environments where circumstances can change quickly and information may be incomplete. Relevant experience may come from corporate communications as well as military service, law enforcement, emergency management, public safety, government, security, business continuity or other crisis and incident response environments

Responsibilities:
  • Serves as a communications lead for significant business, technology, operational, continuity and issues-management events that may affect the company's operations, reputation, employees, clients or communities across the U.S.
  • Develops and executes strategic communications plans that support crisis response, issue readiness and business objectives.
  • Partners closely with Global Response, Global Corporate Security & Executive Protection, Human Resources, Legal, Risk, Technology and executive leadership to assess impacts and determine communications strategies and messaging.
  • Develops executive-level messaging and stakeholder communications for employees and leadership audiences, ensuring clarity, speed, consistency and appropriate tone.
  • Supports issues-management and reputation-risk communications by identifying emerging risks, developing proactive messaging strategies and advising leaders as situations evolve.
  • Monitors developing situations and synthesizes complex or incomplete information to identify communications needs, priorities and appropriate audiences.
  • Creates clear, concise and timely communications during fast-moving incidents, including situations where information is limited or rapidly changing.
  • Partners across Media Relations, Global Marketing, Public Policy, Global Response, Human Resources, Legal, Local Markets and other teams to coordinate communications and maintain alignment during complex situations.
  • Supports crisis readiness and capability building, including scenario planning, simulations, communications playbooks, spokesperson preparedness, response-team activation and after-action reviews.
  • Helps modernize crisis communications capabilities through monitoring, data, AI-enabled intelligence, stakeholder insights and repeatable tools designed to strengthen speed, coordination and response quality.
  • Exercises exceptional judgment when working with sensitive, confidential or rapidly evolving information.


Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in crisis communications, corporate communications, public affairs, issues management, emergency management, military operations, law enforcement, public safety, security, business continuity, incident response or a related field.
  • Experience working in complex, high-pressure or high-visibility situations requiring coordination across multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm, exercise sound judgment and communicate effectively in fast-moving and rapidly changing environments.
  • Ability to synthesize complex or incomplete information, identify what is most important and translate it into clear, actionable communications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop clear messaging for different audiences.
  • Experience developing communications, incident response or issues-management strategies and executing under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to build relationships, influence outcomes and collaborate effectively across a large, matrixed organization.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and quickly shift focus as circumstances change.
  • Experience appropriately handling sensitive or confidential information.


Desired Qualifications
  • Experience supporting crisis management teams, incident command structures, emergency operations, business continuity programs or other organized incident response efforts.
  • Experience gained through military service, law enforcement, emergency management, public safety, government, corporate security or another operational crisis-response environment.
  • Corporate communications, public affairs, media relations or employee communications experience.
  • Financial services or another highly regulated industry experience.
  • International affairs or international crisis-response experience.
  • Experience participating in crisis simulations, exercises or after-action reviews.

Pay range

$97,600.00 - $154,400.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
