Commodity Manager - Strategic Sourcing
Overview
IntePros is seeking a Commodity Manager to support a high-performing Strategic Sourcing team responsible for managing a large portfolio of suppliers, components, and sourcing initiatives across multiple product categories. This role will execute RFQ (Request for Quote) activities, support supplier pricing and cost analysis, improve procurement workflows, and partner closely with Strategic Sourcing Managers to drive sourcing decisions. The ideal candidate has experience in supply chain, procurement, or sourcing within a manufacturing or engineering environment and enjoys working cross-functionally to improve operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
  • Execute RFQ processes for assigned components across multiple product categories, including collecting, consolidating, and analyzing supplier quotations.
  • Partner with Strategic Sourcing Managers to support category sourcing strategies, escalating pricing decisions that exceed established financial thresholds.
  • Manage supplier communications throughout the RFQ process, ensuring timely responses and accurate quote submissions.
  • Perform pricing and cost variation analysis by comparing supplier quotes against standard costs within ERP systems.
  • Define and monitor KPIs related to RFQ cycle times, quote accuracy, supplier response rates, and process efficiency.
  • Support implementation of vendor collaboration tools integrated with PLM and ERP systems to streamline quote management, approvals, and data flow.
  • Assist with cost visibility initiatives by supporting procurement and engineering change management processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, engineering, finance, and category management, to improve sourcing workflows and decision-making.
  • Build strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders while supporting continuous process improvements.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, sourcing, or commodity management within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Experience executing RFQ processes, including supplier quote collection, analysis, and evaluation.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement workflows.
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems or engineering change management (ECO/MCO) processes.
  • Strong understanding of cost analysis, pricing comparisons, and supplier evaluation.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for reporting and data analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience working with vendors and cross-functional stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with procurement platforms such as SAP Ariba, Coupa, or similar vendor collaboration tools.
  • Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing, industrial automation, robotics, or consumer electronics supply chains.
  • Familiarity with Teamcenter, Agile PLM, BOM structures, part lifecycle management, and revision control.
  • Knowledge of electro-mechanical components such as motors, sensors, actuators, pneumatics, industrial automation, or electrical panels.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience supporting data integration initiatives between procurement, ERP, and PLM systems.
