We are looking for a Commodity Manager - Contract Manufacturing. This position will be based in Wendell, NC. Relocation assistance is available.
The Commodity Manager is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for contract manufacturing of
switchgear, electrical components, and power electronics products under the leadership of Senior Commodity Professional - Contract Manufacturing. This role ensures a
competitive, agile, and high-performance supply chain that meets Siemens Smart Infrastructure Electrification & Automation (EA) business objectives.
You'll make an impact by: Strategic Sourcing & Commodity Strategy - Develop and implement commodity strategies for switchgear assemblies, busbar systems, power electronics, and related components.
- Align strategies with business goals for cost productivity, quality, and on-time delivery.
- Conduct market and supplier analysis to understand cost structures, capacity, and risks.
Supplier Relationship Management - Select and manage suppliers capable of delivering high-quality products at competitive pricing.
- Establish long-term partnerships with EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) providers and contract manufacturers.
- Conduct quarterly business reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supplier Performance Management
- Lead regular supplier performance reviews (e.g., Quarterly Business Reviews - QBRs) focusing on quality, delivery, cost, and innovation.
- Proactively address and resolve supplier performance issues, non-conformances, and delivery challenges to minimize impact on production.
Contract Management - Negotiate contracts for contract manufacturing and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Manage frame agreements and global pooling strategies for cost optimization.
Cost & Risk Management - Identify cost reduction opportunities through volume leverage, alternate sourcing, and design collaboration.
- Monitor global supply chain trends to mitigate risks related to tariffs, logistics, and material shortages.
Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work closely with engineering, PLM, and quality teams to ensure supplier readiness for new product introductions (NPI).
- Support product lifecycle management and integrate supplier expertise into portfolio decisions.
You'll win us over by having the following qualifications: Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in commodity management, strategic sourcing, or procurement within electrical or power electronics products manufacturing.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management skills.
- Familiarity with EMS contract manufacturing environments and global supplier markets.
Proficiency in tools like SAP, Excel, and PowerPoint. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with cost modeling, risk management, and supplier performance metrics.
- Knowledge of switchgear assemblies, busbar systems, and power electronics components.

The pay range for this position is $74,970 - $128,520 annually with a target incentive of 5% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
