Full Job Description
As a Commodity Manager, you will develop and lead sourcing strategies for Americas Plastic, Rubber, Gasket, and Resin direct commodities in a global environment. Strategies developed will support supply chain initiatives which include cost containment, regionalization, trade working capital improvement, timely delivery, and quality. Strategies will need to be communicated clearly to large groups. As a COMMODITY MANAGER, You Will: - Develop and implement a direct material sourcing strategy to improve flexibility and supply assurance. - Forecast containment and inflation projects for current and future years. - Establish goals to improve trade working capital with increased payment terms, lower inventory, and shorter lead times. - Develop a capacity and regionalization plan for each part of the commodity. - Establish agreements with suppliers. - Perform electronic sourcing bid events. - Collaborate with Supplier Quality to improve supplier performance (PPM). - Effectively communicate, lead meetings, make presentations, and use tact and professionalism at all times by using core competencies REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS: - Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field. - Two (2) years of experience in a Procurement function or related experience. - Strong project management skills. - A strategic-orientated individual that achieves timely results. - Ability to review processes and provide feedback on how to improve the processes. - Proficient with word processing, spreadsheets and charts - Ability to travel up to 15% of the time (primarily in North America). PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS: - Four (4) years of experience in a Procurement function or related experience. Collaboration First Hybrid Work Arrangements: This role is hybrid eligible with the requirement to be in office at least three days per week. Colleagues are expected to demonstrate a collaboration first mindset, which is the understanding that teams will work together in-person and colleagues should be flexible to adjust their hybrid days based on business needs. You will have an opportunity to work with your team and leader to determine when you should be in office to drive meaningful connections and to best serve our customers. *Please note the expectation is that the role starts on-site 5 days a week for ~6 months to get up to speed and learn the role. Once it's determined the person is comfortable they can transition to a hybrid work schedule.
