Commodity Manager As a full-time Commodity Manager in the Sourcing and Procurement Department at Aalberts, based in Charlotte, NC, you will be responsible for maintaining relationships with current suppliers and qualify potential new sources.
your challenge - Analyze spend data and use in the development of strategic initiatives and sourcing strategies for assigned commodities.
- Compile data for decision making, present for approval and lead/support project execution.
- Negotiate or renew supplier agreements to purchase goods and services for all locations.
- Manage supplier changes and resourcing activities, which includes tracking, initiating, coordinating, buyer/supplier follow-up, and align cross-functional input.
- Collaborate with cross-functional areas and their business requirements.
- Participate in the procurement teams' development of long term and global commodity strategies that support overall cost savings targets.
- Support other Procurement activities when necessary.
- Represent Purchasing in multi-functional teams locally and globally.
- Complete additional duties as assigned by your manager.
requirements - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or Business.
- 5 years' experience in Purchasing, preferably in a manufacturing company.
- Ability to analyze and present data using Power BI & MS Excel.
- Ability to prioritize and complete projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with strong sense of urgency.
- Ability to find creative solutions for complex problems using methodical and analytical approaches.
- Eagerness to identify opportunities and to capitalize on them.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with industrial metals e.g. steel, brass, bronze and their manufacturing processes, casting, forging, machining etc.
- Professional certification, e.g.CPIM/CSCP
- Ability to influence others, handle conflict, and lead multifunctional teams.
- Experience with internet-based bidding and procurement tools.
work environment - Office-based with occasional visits to domestic and international suppliers.
- Will involve exposure to environments requiring adherence to safety protocols including proper wear of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for computer work, data entry, and handling documents.
- Must be able to occasionally lift or move items up to 25 pounds, such as files, boxes, or company branded items or equipment.
- Visual acuity to review detailed reports, inventory data, vendor data on screens and in print.
- Clear verbal communication skills to coordinate with all departments, vendors and colleagues. Specifically, Upper Intermediate (B2) in English.
travel requirements Occasional travel to operational sites and suppliers up to 20% of the time.
