JOB DESCRIPTION

The Global Commodities Gas Trading Team helps clients manage risk and access liquidity. In this role, you’ll help build a durable U.S. Gas trading franchise, combining strong market judgment, rigorous risk governance, and clear leadership to deliver repeatable performance.

Job summary:

As an Executive Director on the Global Commodities team, you will work on the day-to-day management of a U.S. Gas Basis trading portfolio, setting the operating cadence for the franchise, identifying and monetizing opportunities, and partnering closely with Sales, Structuring, Technology and QR. You’ll translate fundamentals and market structure into actionable positioning, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and develop a high-performing team and platform.

Job responsibilities

  • Build and scale a U.S Gas Basis trading franchise through expanded coverage, repeatable processes, and a durable revenue engine
  • Size, understand, and manage portfolio risk with clear governance, limits, and escalation
  • Drive the operating model (market engagement, portfolio construction, and performance management) and ensure disciplined monetization of opportunities
  • Make pricing and risk decisions aligned to market dynamics, liquidity conditions, and competitive considerations
  • Monitor fundamentals and market structure (supply/demand, congestion, outages, weather, transmission constraints, regulatory and rule changes) and convert insights into positioning
  • Partner with Sales/Structuring to deliver client solutions and improve overall franchise performance
  • Lead, hire, coach, and develop traders/analysts; establish an operating cadence that supports a resilient platform
