POSITION OVERVIEW: Startec Refrigeration Service is currently recruiting for a Journeyperson Commercial Refrigeration/HVAC Mechanic to work at our Edmonton Alberta location (4403 68 Ave, Edmonton AB). Rates are determined based on experience and tenure. The pay range for Journeyperson's are $53.89 to $59.17 per hour (depending on years of experience and supplemental rates/premiums). Dual ticket premiums will also apply. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI): TECHNICAL EXPERTISE & OPERATIONAL DUTIES (Weighting 60%) System Maintenance, Repair and Installation Installation of welded, threaded, and/or brazed refrigeration piping systems. Conduct start-ups, inspections, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance for refrigeration/HVAC systems, resolving system issues as needed. Complete regulatory paperwork regarding refrigerant release, ABSA, CFIA, etc. Problem Resolution Troubleshoot refrigeration/HVAC electrical control systems and perform necessary repairs. Perform all work in compliance with the Quality Control and Health & Safety program. Take on additional duties as required to support job functions. Collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment. QUALIFICATIONS: Journeyman certification or equivalent in HVAC refrigeration mechanics. Basic computer skills required (MS Office Applications) Class A Gas Fitting, Electrician/Sheetmetal, and/or Hydronic experience is an asset Strong customer service and relationship-building skills. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team. Willingness to learn and develop technical skills through on-the-job training. Class 5 Driver's License with a clean Driver's Abstract Ability to work independently and on-call. Ability to work out of town. Travel and overnight stays may be required from time to time.
