Commercial Manager - Infrastructure | Burnaby, BC | ID#6490

We are seeking a Commercial Manager to support our growing Infrastructure team in Burnaby, BC. In this role, you'll play a key part in driving project excellence, collaborating with industry leaders, and ensuring high-quality outcomes across complex initiatives.

Role & Responsibilities

In this role, you will:
• Lead the commercial strategy for major infrastructure and capital projects, ensuring financial performance and risk mitigation.
• Develop and implement commercial management systems that drive operational efficiency and minimize business risk.
• Administer and oversee project agreements, subcontracts, consultancy agreements, and purchase agreements, ensuring all contractual deliverables and timelines are met.
• Ensure all contractually required notices are delivered in accordance with project agreements.
• Lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of client and subcontractor contracts to optimize financial, legal, risk management, and reputational outcomes.
• Provide regular commercial reporting and analytics to PTAG Leadership and Project Teams.
• Support Business Development and Corporate Strategy initiatives, including market research, bid support, and risk assessments.
• Develop and manage risk mitigation plans across project lifecycles, from bid phase through closeout and defect liability periods.
• Engage with insurance advisors to develop appropriate project insurance programs and coverages.
• Monitor regulatory requirements at the local and federal levels.
• Manage client relationships and identify opportunities for new contracts and business growth.
• Recruit, oversee, and manage contractors and vendors.
• Provide leadership to commercial and contract administration functions, including direct oversight of a Contract Administrator.

Qualifications / Requirements

To succeed in this role, you bring:
• A bachelor's degree in engineering, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Postgraduate or professional designation preferred (MBA, PMP or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of finance, accounting principles, and project reporting.
• Minimum 15 years of experience within Consulting Services and/or Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) environments on major capital projects.
• At least 5 years of commercial management experience on large-scale infrastructure projects within Owner's Representative, Prime-Sub, or Joint Venture environments.
• Experience administering Project Management or Project Support Services Master Service Agreements.
• Demonstrated expertise in contract negotiation, risk management, and commercial strategy development.
• Strong executive communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.

Salary Range for Role

$150,000 - $155,000
