Full Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE:

Maintains and manages a large commercial loan portfolio, make sales calls and provides commercial lenders with guidance and mentoring.

DUTIES, SCOPE, RESPONSIBLIITIES & AUTHORITY:

Works closely with a Commercial Loan Assistant and will provide work direction and instruction. Attends to needs of present or potential customers seeking loans on terms involving significant amounts of unsecured funds and/or credits secured by mortgages or other collateral. Handles the most complex accounts and works with significant lending authority. Interviews applicants to develop information concerning their businesses, needs, desires, abilities, and earnings to determine whether a loan may be an acceptable risk. Analyzes loan requests to determine if it complies with Central Bank of Boone County loan policy objectives and sound lending principles while meeting the company's profitability goals. Conducts credit checks and makes plant or company visits as necessary. Obtains and directs analysis of all necessary financial background data for new or renewed loans to establish credit worthiness. Establishes and negotiates, when necessary, credit terms, and continually monitor customers' credit worthiness and repayment activities. Works with junior loan officers and credit department in the development and analysis of financial background data for new or renewed loans. Serves as a lending mentor for junior officers. Makes decisions on loans and terms if within own lending limits, or makes recommendations to the Loan Approval Committee as specified. Either independently or with the assistance of the Credit Analysis Department prepares written loan proposals accompanied by all supporting documents for presentation to the appropriate Loan Approval Committee. Presents the loan to the Loan Approval Committee. Serves on the Loan Approval Committee as a voting member when the loan presented is not one of the officer's own. Responsible for developing and managing large and/or complex commercial

loan accounts. May be called upon to provide functional support to other officers. Follows up on current loans to ensure complete conformity with terms and cognizance of developing trends. Gives limited financial advice and counsel to customers and prospective customers within the boundaries of lender liability. Stays current on industrial, commercial and financial situations relating to new or existing businesses. Provides customers with routine platform services, such as approving checks for cashing or handling customer problems. Calls on potential or existing customers to develop new business and increase or retain existing business; including deposit services, cash management, Investment Management and Trust, private banking and other ancillary services. Works with problem loans. Attends foreclosures, and works closely with attorneys on the bank's strategy and bid price at a foreclosure sale. Works with loans in litigation. Responsible for compliance with all banking regulations which are applicable to the job, including Bank Secrecy Act and information security initiatives

Bachelors or advanced degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or Accounting. Banking experience may be a substitute for a specific degree type. Successful in tenure and experience in the Commercial Lending area continuing to serve a lead role in the mentoring and development of other Lenders, Credit Analysts, and Commercial Lending Assistants, as well as other formal and informal reports. A seasoned lender, who has experienced a wide variety of lending situations, and who has more than ten years of commercial lending experience, and who can handle accounts with highly complex credits.
