The ideal candidate combines sales enablement expertise with commercial acumen, learning and development, process improvement, analytics, and change leadership. This individual must be able to build trusted partnerships, translate technical capabilities into practical sales knowledge, and connect enablement investments to measurable business outcomes.

Position Summary

The Commercial Enablement Manager develops and implements enterprise-wide strategies that enable commercial teams to perform at their highest potential. The manager partners with Commercial Leadership, Marketing, Operations, technical subject matter experts, and IPSU & Talent Enablement to improve seller readiness, accelerate onboarding, strengthen customer engagement, and drive consistent commercial execution.

The role supports the full commercial ecosystem:
• Business Development / BDC
• Inside Sales
• Distribution
• Outside Sales
• Sales Leadership

The Commercial Enablement Manager ensures these teams have the role-specific knowledge, skills, tools, processes, and resources needed to engage customers effectively and deliver business results.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Enablement Strategy
• Develop and execute a comprehensive commercial enablement strategy aligned with business priorities and growth objectives.
• Create scalable, role-based programs that improve sales effectiveness and customer engagement across commercial channels.
• Assess capability gaps and prioritize solutions based on strategic importance, performance data, stakeholder input, and expected business value.
• Establish consistent enablement standards, governance, learning paths, and performance-support practices.
• Partner with commercial leaders to align enablement initiatives with customer needs, market opportunities, and revenue goals.

Onboarding and Capability Development
• Design and manage onboarding programs that accelerate new-hire readiness and time to productivity.
• Create differentiated learning pathways for Business Development/BDC, Inside Sales, Distribution, Outside Sales, and Sales Leadership.
• Develop instructor-led, virtual, blended, and self-paced learning experiences.
• Build capability in prospecting and lead generation, consultative selling, account management, customer engagement, negotiation, value selling, sales process execution, and technical product and service knowledge.
• Equip sales managers with coaching resources and reinforcement tools that support sustained behavior change.

Sales Content and Performance Support
• Develop and maintain sales playbooks, coaching guides, messaging frameworks, discovery tools, solution briefs, customer success stories, competitive positioning resources, and job aids.
• Create practical resources tailored to the needs and sales motions of each commercial channel.
• Ensure commercial teams have consistent access to accurate, current, and actionable enablement content.
• Partner with Marketing, Operations, and technical experts to align messaging and translate complex capabilities into customer-focused value propositions.

Commercial Excellence and Process Improvement
• Support adoption and consistent execution of sales methodologies, CRM processes, pipeline practices, and commercial operating rhythms.
• Identify barriers to seller productivity and recommend solutions involving capability, content, process, technology, leadership, or workflow improvements.
• Partner with Sales Operations and commercial leaders to strengthen process discipline and performance visibility.
• Lead change-management and adoption activities associated with new tools, processes, programs, and strategic initiatives.

Analytics and Business Impact
• Define meaningful enablement measures and performance indicators in partnership with business stakeholders.
• Measure onboarding effectiveness, learning adoption, capability growth, seller productivity, process adoption, and applicable commercial outcomes.
• Use qualitative and quantitative data to identify trends, evaluate effectiveness, and continuously improve programs.
• Provide clear dashboards, insights, and recommendations to commercial and talent leadership.
• Document the relationship between enablement activities and business outcomes without overstating attribution.

Cross-Functional Leadership
• Build trusted partnerships with Commercial Leadership, Marketing, Operations, Sales Operations, technical subject matter experts, and IPSU & Talent Enablement.
• Facilitate alignment when stakeholder priorities compete and influence decisions without relying on formal authority.
• Lead cross-functional enablement projects from diagnosis and design through implementation, adoption, measurement, and sustainment.
• Support commercialization of new services, capabilities, and strategic growth initiatives.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
