The Commercial Director has primary responsibility for the sales and commercial excellence of the business and for the development of its commercial strategy and supporting objectives. In this role, the Commercial Director will lead a large national team to drive revenue for the business by meeting or exceeding sales targets. They will identify and measure performance drivers for their team, utilize technology to implement processes & tools to inform sales decisions and create revenue opportunities, while ensuring our customer demands are met or exceeded. You will set short- and long-term sales strategies and evaluate the effectiveness of current sales programs. You will recommend product or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential.
Due to the geographical spread of the team over multiple locations, coaching and developing talent is critical to success in this role, either in person or virtually. You will lead both inside and outside sales teams, coaching them to drive revenue and provide an excellent customer experience.
Job Location- This position will be based in Phoenix, AZ.
Job Responsibilities- Development of strategy and long-term plans to drive revenue
- In-depth P&L analytical capabilities
- Strong knowledge of sales process
- Generate and foster relationships with key external customers
- Obtain and analyze market intelligence to generate strategic growth models with the Commercial Team
- Development of the commercial team, supporting the talent development plan
- Develop and execute national customer-based market strategies
- Recommend and set target pricing for all products and monitor and adjust based on market conditions
- Work in coordination with area Leadership Teams, Sales Management, Production, and Engineering to create and implement strategic processes creating alignment across the business
- Seeks out and assists in the development of new company growth opportunities and concepts
- Sales forecast and budgeting

- Bachelor's Degree; Master's Degree Preferred
- 5+ years of progressive management experience in a manufacturing or related business, with preference for building products and construction materials industries
- Proven track record of leading a commercial function
- Experience with construction site operations
- Well-developed financial, analytical, forecasting and problem-solving skills
