This role will be based in San Francisco Bay Area, New York, Chicago, or Washington D.C.

As an integral member of our fast-paced, well-rounded, collaborative, and fun Legal & Public Policy team, you will play an active role in fulfilling LinkedIn's mission of connecting the world's professionals to make them more productive and successful.

In this role, you will focus on addressing the novel and complex legal and business issues that confront a fast-growing company committed to innovation. You will work primarily with our Subscriptions business teams, negotiating revenue-generating transactions. You will serve as a trusted legal partner to our government sales organization and management to identify legal risks when contracting with federal, state, local and education agencies and execute solutions accordingly.

Responsibilities:
  • Independently draft, review and negotiate technology-related agreements for LinkedIn Subscriptions business teams. Representative agreements include subscription agreements, data processing agreements, channel partner agreements, order forms, addenda, and non-disclosure agreements.
  • Collaborate with LinkedIn's Sales, Deal Desk, Finance, Product, and other cross-functional teams on internal approvals and escalations to ensure sales transactions are closed on time and in accordance with internal corporate policies and processes.
  • Act as a trusted legal partner to the LinkedIn government sales organization and drive new strategic projects and initiatives that impact positive business results and sales opportunities.
  • Optimize contract templates, playbooks, and negotiation and management processes for the Legal & Public Policy team to create leverage and efficiency.
  • Participate in the Legal & Public Policy team's pro bono initiatives.


Additional Information

Basic Qualifications:
  • J.D. and admission to the bar or the ability to practice in-house in your office location
  • 3+ years' experience practicing as a technology transactions attorney, including a mix of experience in software licensing, cloud services, and/or AI-related transactions

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with government sales transactions, including with federal, state, local and education agencies
  • Experience with indirect sales transactions, including with channel partners, resellers, and distributors
  • Proficiency in data privacy and security frameworks
  • Familiarity with FAR/DFARS provisions
  • Demonstrated ability to draft, review, and negotiate agreements independently with minimal supervision, while exercising judgment in escalating material issues to senior attorneys as needed
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with teams across various disciplines and seniority levels

The pay range for this role is $123,000 to $200,000 Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
