OverviewThe Commercial Business Lending Officer II provides superior relationship management and portfolio management for a moderate to large sized commercial loan portfolio. Develops new loan opportunities from both new and existing customers, identifies qualified potential new borrowing customers and initiates business development activities to establish new lending relationships. Creates market visibility through the development of a productive outside referral network and participation in business and community organizations.
Responsibilities- Portfolio Development and Management
- Provides superior relationship management for a moderate to large sized commercial portfolio. Maintains regular proactive outreach with existing customers through a combination of in-person visits, phone and email contact. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of each customer's business strategy and provides appropriate banking solutions to help meet client needs and expand relationships.
- As is required, collects appropriate financial materials from existing and prospective borrowers for analysis with all new borrowing requests or for annual review of appropriate relationships.
- Structuring and Documentation
- Structures commercial loan facilities, pricing and proper documentation per bank and departmental policy to ensure that final documentation is consistent with credit approval documents. Works collaboratively with the Departmental Operational team, the Bank's Credit Department and Commercial Loan Servicing Team to ensure high quality credit analysis and risk assessments are in place and are properly documented.
- Underwriting and Analysis
- Completes analysis of required financial documents for all related lending and review activities to determine viability of repayment capability and financial strength of the subject company.
- Responsible for the writing of CAM for all related lending and review activities utilizing the Bank's Abrigo system and the approved and prescribed underwriting template as appropriate.
- Recommends action for loan approvals, declines, modifications or renewals.
- Business Development
- Develops new self-sourced lending opportunities through the building and ongoing maintenance of a network of referral sources outside of the Bank. Opportunities are consistent with the Bank's credit standards, lending footprint and industries as per policy.
- Attend both internal and external networking events for COI development and to support Bank's directives and overall mission. Represents the Bank through participation in active leadership positions in various business and community organizations creating maximum visibility for the Bank.
- Receives referrals from COI network, makes referrals to COI network and works to find opportunities to introduce with purpose, customers and COI's as appropriate.
- Writing
- Responsible for writing credit memo's for all new loan requests, writing annual customer relationship reviews for all qualified loan relationships in the lenders portfolio.
- Branch Support
- Provides proactive and responsive support to Community Banking staff in assigned branch territory as required.
- Compliance
- Performs all duties in accordance with prescribed Bank and regulatory compliance guidelines. Ensures all commercial loan relationships are in full compliance with Bank policies and applicable federal and state laws and regulatory guidelines. Recommends changes as necessary to support prescribed requirements.
- Miscellaneous
- Performs related and unrelated duties as may be required.
RequirementsEducation
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent direct work experience is required
Work Experience
- 3-5 years experience in client facing commercial credit and/or commercial lending, credit underwriting experience is preferred
Additional Requirements
- Must have ability to analyze financial statements and must possess at least intermediate level of technology skills including knowledge of word processing, database and spreadsheet applications. Strong time management skills are required as is ability to prioritize tasks as position is comprehensive.

- Strong writing skills with ability to write with clarity and efficiency.
- This role requires the ability to travel throughout defined market as required.
Expected Pay RangeThe expected annual pay range for this role is $76,463 to $135,731. This pay range is the annual salary we in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation paid may fluctuate higher or lower than the posted range and the range may be modified in the future due to several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, certifications, and qualifications, internal equity, adjustments to the requirements and responsibilities of the job, business needs, and economic and market data.
