Job DescriptionThe Opportunity:In the Commercial Operations group, you'll play a key part in the value chain and lifecycle management of various commercial and joint venture agreements, partnering closely across business units including production, operations, accounting and legal, to ensure delivery of maximum value while aligning contractual obligations and internal processes and pursuing continuous improvement opportunities.

Key Accountabilities:- Support commercial opportunities to drive value and efficiency - Collaborate with internal teams to evaluate and enable growth initiatives such as new partnerships, infrastructure optimization, third-party opportunities and drive continuous improvement projects
- Be a trusted point of contact -Support stakeholders across commercial, operations, accounting, and external partners to provide timely, solution-oriented guidance
- Own the agreement lifecycle - Negotiate, draft, review, and maintain a range of joint venture and commercial agreements, ensuring terms are clear, practical, and aligned with evolving business needs and optimize value for Canadian Natural
- Ensure data integrity and insights -Maintain accurate contract and operational data within internal systems, and use available technology to enable informed decision-making, analysis, and reporting
- Translate complexity into clarity - Summarize and communicate negotiation outcomes and contractual terms to cross-functional teams, ensuring shared understanding and smooth execution across the business
What You Bring to the Role:- A highly driven commercial professional with strong energy and ownership, capable of identifying and delivering value-creating opportunities in complex environments
- Brings sharp commercial acumen to translate insights into actionable strategies and tangible results
- Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams, align diverse stakeholders, and navigate ambiguity
- Skilled in resolving problems and managing difficult conversations with clarity and professionalism, ensuring issues are addressed constructively and outcomes are achieved
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the communication skills required to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners
- Post-secondary education in Engineering, Business, Accounting, Finance, or an energy-related technical discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in joint venture, commercial, operations, or a related role within the Canadian energy industry
- Experience in financial and economic modelling, decision analysis and business development is considered beneficial
- Proficiency with digital tools to manage information and support decision-making
