Full Job Description
THE POSITION:

Under general direction from the General Manager, plans, organizes, and directs the maintenance, cleaning, and inspection of the District's sewer collection system and related facilities. This is an "at will" management classification; the incumbent serves at the pleasure of the District and his/her employment can be terminated at any time, with or without cause or advance notice.

EXAMPLES OF JOB DUTIES:

Plan, develop, and implement a preventive maintenance program for the collection system; develop, audit, and update the Sewer System Management Plan (SSMP) and act as legally responsible official (LO) for certifying SSO reports; assist with budget preparation; supervise employees, evaluate their performance, and impose discipline; manage insurance claims related to the collection system; and perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Any combination of education and experience, which would provide the required knowledge and abilities, is qualifying.

Five years of experience in the maintenance of a sewer collection system, including at least two years of supervisory or lead experience; and, equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade, supplemented by specialized training in maintenance or operations. Computer skills highly desirable.

LICENSE, CERTIFICATION & RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS:

Possession of a valid California driver's license and a motor vehicle record that meets the District's driving standards; and, possession of, or ability to obtain within two years of appointment, a CWEA Grade IV Certificate in Collection System Maintenance.
