Job Description:

  • Supervises day-to-day pre- and post-bill audit workflows, ensuring timely completion of random and trend-based audits
  • Coordinates onboarding audits and coding school activities, supporting new hire readiness and competency validation
  • Reviews audit findings and deliver broad-based education and feedback to reinforce standardized coding practices
  • Ensures consistent application of audit methodologies and coding standards across teams
  • Identifies coding accuracy trends and escalates systemic issues or performance variation to leadership
  • Supports development and delivery of training materials and education programs aligned to audit results
  • Partners with Coding Operations to integrate audit feedback into daily workflows and practices
  • Provides coaching and guidance to auditors and coding staff to improve accuracy, consistency, and performance
  • Tracks and reports on audit completion, accuracy trends, and education effectiveness.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficient experience with EMR systems (Epic preferred). [Required]
  • DNFB management, productivity management and turnaround time optimization [Required]
  • Ability to analyze workflows and recommend informatics-based improvements. [Required]
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 office products [Required]
  • Data analysis, KPI interpretation, and executive reporting [Required]
  • Enterprise leadership and cross functional influence skills [Required]
  • Change management and enterprise implementation leadership [Required]
  • Financial and operational risk awareness [Required]
  • Strong executive communication and presentation skills [Required]
  • Decision making using volume trends, forecasting and operational analytics. [Required]

Education:
  • Associates degree [Required]
  • Bachelors degree [Preferred]

Work Experience:
  • 5+ years of acute care inpatient and outpatient hospital coding [Required]
  • 5+ years of experience in coding audit or equivalent experience performing high-risk coding validation, DRG/APC review, regulatory interpretation, or complex case analysis [Required]
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience [Preferred]
