Position Summary:
Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine. Maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records and maintaining equipment and supplies.
Essential Responsibilities May Include:
- Creates instructions for machining parts using Mastercam
- Reviews 3D CAD design blueprints (SolidWorks)
- Makes calculations for programming including where materials should be cut
- Translates instructions into a computer automated manufacturing (CAM) program
- Communicates with engineers and clients who will use the programs
- Checks completed programs by running simulations or tests
- Prepares geometric layout of designs using proper software
- Determines sequence of operations in a program
- Writes programs and modifies existing ones for increased efficiency
- Analyzes and selects speeds and cutting tools for programs
- Prepares and sets up CNC machines to run first parts
Basic Qualifications & Education:
- Minimum of 5 years programming experience in composite CNC machined parts
- MUST have advanced knowledge of programming
- Strong understanding of 4 and 5 Axis machining, materials, processes and tolerances
- Mechanically able to assemble and disassemble parts and assemblies
- Self-starter with excellent time management skills and ability to establish objectives
- Experience with contact and non-contact inspection methods
- Organized, self-motivated, strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple duties, set priorities and follow tasks through completion
- Capable of working in an environment in which demands and priorities change
- Processing techniques such as wet lay-up, mold and fixture design, inspection methods, and infusion preferred
- High School diploma or equivalent

Compensation:
The hourly range for this position falls within $40-$50. The final compensation will be determined based on experience, skillset, and other factors permitted by law.
