Full Job Description
Leidos' Defense Systems Mechanical Manufacturing Facility is seeking a CNC Machinist to join our aerospace manufacturing team. This position is ideal for a self-motivated machinist who thrives in a prototype and production environment where every part is critical. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing precision components from engineering drawings while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and workmanship. Primary Responsibilities - The CNC Machinist must be capable of reading engineering drawings and CAD models to produce unique precision parts. - Experience in the manufacturing of complex aerospace components from exotic materials, such as Titanium, is a plus. - 5-axis and/or mill-turn experience is a plus. - This role will work on different projects in an ever changing, rapid paced R&D environment with little or no assistance. Basic Qualifications - Candidates must possess a High School diploma/GED with at least 5 years of precision machining experience on CNC Mills & CNC Lathes. - Candidates must have the ability to lift a minimum of 35+ pounds unassisted. - Ability to stand for long periods of time. - Candidate must be able to work overtime when required. - Applicant must be able to work a full-time, 4-days per week 10-hours per shift, 1st shift. - Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess or meet the eligibility to obtain (and be able to maintain) a Secret Clearance. Preferred Qualifications - 5 axis machining experience with Fanuc, Siemens 840D controls and MAPS programming. - (2) two years of 2D & 3D experience with a CAM software tool. - SURFCAM, Edgecam or Catia experience. - Experience machining in a prototype environment.
