Job Description:As a Cloud Services Project Lead, you will provide leadership and oversight for enterprise cloud transformation initiatives across hybrid and multi-cloud environments supporting Department of Defense missions. You will be responsible for planning, execution, and delivery of cloud programs while ensuring alignment with DoD cybersecurity, acquisition, and enterprise IT governance frameworks.
This role combines program leadership with deep technical understanding, emphasizing DevSecOps, DoD Cloud (e.g., Impact Level (IL)-compliant environments), and mission assurance.
Required Certifications- Project Management Professional (PMP) - from Project Management Institute (PMI).
- One or more cloud certifications:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or Professional
- Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate
- Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Associate or Professional
Preferred / Advanced Certifications- DoD 8570/8140 compliant certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, or equivalent).
- Project Management Professional (PMP) - from Project Management Institute.
- SCRUM Master Certification.
- Certified Cloud Security Professional.
- ITIL 4 Foundation.
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
What You'll Do:- Lead execution of enterprise cloud initiatives across IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and Kubernetes-based platforms within DoD environments.
- Serve as the primary project lead coordinating across engineering teams, cybersecurity, acquisition, and mission stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), risk registers, and dependency tracking artifacts aligned to DoD program management practices.
- Drive adoption of DevSecOps pipelines using tools such as Terraform, GitHub Actions, AWS/Azure DevOps, and Jenkins.
- Lead Authority to Operate (ATO) lifecycle activities under the Risk Management Framework, including control implementation, evidence generation, and continuous monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with DoD security requirements including:
- DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide (IL2-IL6)
- Defense Information Systems Agency Security Technical Implementation Guides
- Manage vendor performance across SLAs, KPIs, and security requirements in DoD-authorized cloud environments (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, etc.).
- Support DoD acquisition processes, including requirements definition, market research, and evaluation of cloud service providers.
- Deliver executive-level reporting to DoD leadership on program status, risks, cybersecurity posture, and mission impact.
- Coordinate application modernization and migration efforts, including microservices, APIs, and mission system integration.
Required Skills & Qualifications:- 10+ years of enterprise IT experience, including:
- 5+ years managing cloud or large-scale DoD IT programs
- Experience supporting DoD or IC environments
- Demonstrated experience with:
- DoD cloud environments (e.g., GovCloud, IL-compliant systems)
- Risk Management Framework processes and ATO lifecycle
- DoD security controls (STIGs, SRG, NIST 800-53 overlays)
- Proven leadership of cross-functional teams.
- Experience with DevSecOps implementation and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with containerization and Kubernetes platforms.
- Experience supporting continuous monitoring and cybersecurity compliance.
- Strong project management expertise aligned with DoD environments.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives in mission-critical environments.
- Strong understanding of cloud integration and system architectures.
- Experience in Agile, Scrum, SAFe, and hybrid DoD delivery models.
- Ability to align cloud capabilities with mission assurance and operational readiness.

Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
Years of Experience: 10+ years of experience in systems administrator, engineering, and integration supporting large-scale system sustainability. 5+ years of related DoD, Military, or US Government related experience.

The likely salary range for this position is $161,500 - $218,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
