Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing enterprise cloud, network, and infrastructure solutions. The role supports cloud modernization initiatives, hybrid environments, and mission-critical systems by providing expertise in AWS, networking, virtualization, infrastructure architecture, automation, and CI/CD practices. This position collaborates with stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient solutions that support business and operational objectives.
Responsibilities- Provide technical guidance and support for customer requests, operational issues, and escalations.
- Design, implement, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure, including networking, compute, storage, and security services.
- Architect and maintain cloud and hybrid network environments, ensuring secure connectivity between on-premises and cloud resources.
- Engineer and support enterprise infrastructure solutions, including servers, virtualization platforms, storage systems, and networking components.
- Design and implement scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant architectures to support business and mission requirements.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate application and infrastructure deployments.
- Support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies using tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar automation frameworks.
- Manage AWS virtual networking services, including VPCs, Route Tables, Security Groups, Transit Gateway, VPNs, Load Balancers, and Direct Connect solutions.
- Integrate cloud platforms with enterprise services to support digital transformation and cloud modernization initiatives.
- Monitor infrastructure, applications, and networks to ensure system health, availability, and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud, network, infrastructure, and application-related issues.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery, business continuity, failover, and recovery solutions.
- Implement and maintain security controls, access management, and compliance requirements across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Coordinate infrastructure upgrades, migrations, patching, and technology refresh efforts.
- Collaborate with development, operations, security, and architecture teams to deploy and maintain reliable solutions.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, standard operating procedures, and configuration standards.
- Work with technology vendors and service providers to support infrastructure design, implementation, and operational excellence.
Required Experience- Active Top Secret Clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise infrastructure, networking, and technology solutions.
- Experience supporting cloud environments, with a strong focus on AWS.
- Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, or similar technologies.
- Experience designing and managing enterprise network infrastructures, including routing, switching, TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, and load balancing.
- Experience with AWS services including:
- Amazon VPC
- Amazon EC2
- Amazon RDS
- AWS IAM
- AWS Route 53
- AWS CloudWatch
- AWS Systems Manager
- Amazon S3
- AWS Load Balancing Services
- Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
- Experience with Windows and Linux system administration.
- Experience with virtualization, VDI technologies, including Citrix, Horizon, or similar platforms.
- Experience with YAML, JSON, Git, Jira, and Confluence.
- Experience coordinating vendor activities and leading infrastructure architecture and design initiatives.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure, network, and cloud-related issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications- AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional Certification.
- AWS Advanced Networking Specialty Certification.
- Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and cloud security frameworks.
- Experience supporting federal government or regulated environments.
