Full Job Description

You are: 
A hands-on data consulting leader, a Solutions Architect who knows how to develop, design, and maintain Hybrid cloud-based data platforms on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud. You will own the target-state reference architecture for the data platform across all platform layers and drive the architectural decisions that determine whether the platform proves out. You will collaborate with the Platform and Data Engineers to ensure the design is implementable as infrastructure as code, and with the Security and Compliance SME to ensure the architecture satisfies the controls of an Secure environment.

You will act as design authority, defending the architecture to infrastructure and security stakeholders on evidence rather than assertion. In this role, you are expected to be a SME, collaborate and manage the team to perform. You will be responsible for team decisions and will engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions. Additionally, you are expected to provide solutions to problems that apply across multiple teams. Advanced proficiency in Data & AI Platforms Strategy is required. Advanced proficiency in Cloud Infrastructure Architecture is recommended.

Own the target-state reference architecture across the platform layers. Lead discovery and architecture definition, including data source inventory, classification and use-case prioritization. Make and document component sourcing decisions so that each selection is defensible on support, patching and operational burden. Direct the technical work of the platform, data and security team members and adjudicate design trade-offs where the secure environment constrains the intended pattern.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Lead the Technology Solution, Architecture and Delivery of large and/or complex full lifecycle data applications across cloud, hybrid and on-prem landscapes 
  • Design and build robust data pipelines using scalable Architecture, tools and techniques to produce high-quality data structures 
  • Design data solutions, architect data transformation projects, develop solution blueprints and data modernization/migration plans, document, and present recommendations to clients and/or stakeholders. 
  • Implement quicker data processing methods and integrate complex business logic compatible with daily or real-time/streaming frameworks 
  • Increase automation and scaling of complex data sets based on the customer’s analytic use case, such as structured data delivery for business analysis, daily extraction of mission enabling data for data mining/exploration, and transforming data for applied intelligence to power impactful data visualizations  
  • Drive business and proactive development activities like proposal responses, recruitment, etc.

What You’ll Need: 


  • Minimum 8 years of experience in implementing modern data architecture and solutions required to build a scalable and secure enterprise data platform
  • Minimum 5 years of experience delivering and implementing Data & Analytics solutions on Azure, AWS, Google Cloud or On-Prem infrastructure using appropriate services delivering value to the client.
  • Strong hands-on experience in building data supply chain pipelines e.g. Spark, Kafka, medallion architecture solutions and orchestration.
  • Experience developing or migrating on-premises Spark workloads to the cloud 
  • Solutions architect certification in one of the cloud platforms Azure, AWS or Google cloud 
  • A bachelor's degree or completion of a college program in computer science or a related field
  • English is required for this position as this role will regularly interact with stakeholders across Canada, US and other countries across our Global footprint where English is the common language. Due to the significant high volume of interactions with these English-speaking stakeholders, which is inherent to this position, it is not possible to reorganize the company's activities to avoid this requirement.
  • Eligibility for Canadian Secret Security clearance is required

Bonus Points: 

  • Previous consulting or client service delivery experience.  
  • Experience delivering and implementing Data & Analytics solutions on On-Prem infrastructure using appropriate services delivering value to the client.
