Position Description: We are seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in automating infrastructure deployment and management using code, ensuring efficient, scalable, and reliable systems. This role requires a strong understanding of cloud platforms, configuration management, and DevOps practices.
This position is located in our Fairfax, VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using template like Terraform. Ansible, or CloudFormation
• Automate the provisioning and management of cloud infrastructure within the Google Cloud Platform. (AWS, Azure).
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate IaC solutions into CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab Ultimate.
• Implement and manage configuration management solutions to ensure consistency and compliance across environments.
• Monitor and optimize infrastructure performance, scalability, and security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure related issues in a timely manner.
• Document infrastructure designs, processes, and procedures for knowledge sharing and compliance
• Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in cloud infrastructure and DevOps.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
• Assist in the development of disaster recovery and business continuity plans
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in infrastructure automation and cloud technologies
• Proficiency in IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure) and their services
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (GitLab Ultimate)
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Relevant certifications (e.g. GCP, Certified Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer), are a plus
Desired qualifications/non essential skills required:
• GitLab Ultimate
• Google Cloud Platform(GCP) experience is a plus but experience with AWS and Azure are considered.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Services or other similar Cloud Platform Services.
• Experience Packaging and Publishing software for client consumption.
• Experience with Microservice Architecture and building containers.
• Experience with modern container based applications.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $89,600.00 $198,400.00.
