Title:
Cloud Engineer
Our KBR team in Colorado Springs, CO, is seeking a Cloud Engineer. This role is pivotal in integrating cloud technologies with Cloud Infrastructure practices, requiring a blend of technical skills and operational acumen. As a Cloud Engineer, your contributions will have direct impact on the success of our projects and the overall business outcomes we aim to achieve.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deploy, manage, and maintain Microsoft Azure cloud resources in multiple environments.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, Terraform, etc.) repositories to easily recreate and redeploy resources as needed.
- Troubleshoot failed deployments, integrations between Azure resources, and user access issues through Azure Entra ID service.
- Troubleshoot Azure Kubernetes Service and Virtual Machines with deployed applications running.
- Design and maintain networks and systems interconnectivity protected with Azure Firewall Policies, User-Defined Routes, Application Gateway, etc.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support DevOps Engineers, Software Engineers, and Systems Engineers.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Security Clearance: Must have an active U.S. government SECRET security clearance, with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance; which is something only a U.S. citizen can obtain.
- Education: B.S. in Computer Science. Other degrees/educational courses will be considered with relevant work experience or certification.
- 2+ years of experience with knowledge in one or more of the following fields:
- Cloud Engineering
- Network Engineering
- Comfortable with Bicep, Terraform, or similar Infrastructure as Code practices.
- 1+ years of experience with Azure or AWS cloud services through AZ/AWS Command Line Interface tools and Azure/AWS Portal usage.
- 2+ years of experience with GNU/Linux commands, shell navigation, and standard code repository usage (GitLab, GitHub, etc.)
- Ability to research and solve complex technical problems independently.
Desired:
- AWS or Azure cloud services certification (AWS Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals or similar) is preferred.
- DoD 8140 Cyber Workforce qualification (Security+ or equivalent)
- Experience creating cloud infrastructure with standard resources.
- Familiarity with Azure Entra ID, Azure Kubernetes Service, Virtual Machines, Azure Firewall, Azure networking resources.
- Experience operating/deploying/managing air-gapped cloud networks.
Basic Compensation: $93,700 - $140,600 (For Colorado Springs, CO Only)
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of a sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
