Responsibilities

An Average Day: As the Cloud Engineer I you will assist with the deployment, integration, operations and maintenance of VMWare vSphere 8, vSAN, Microsoft Azure Cloud and Office 365 environment and applications. You will perform systems administration/engineering tasks for VMWare, Azure cloud and Office 365 services, as well as troubleshooting issues, and participate with the integration of the Azure cloud platform into customer environments. You will also have a high degree of customer interaction including pre-deployment planning and knowledge transfer as well as handling technical escalations. Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Assist with the implementation, operations and maintenance of enterprise cloud solutions using vSphere 8, vSAN, Office 365 and related core technologies including Active Directory, Cloud Identities, Exchange, Teams, ADFS, AAD Connect, Intune and PowerShell.
  • Ensure appropriate implementation of technology following all standards and best practices set forth by governing bodies.
  • Provide Azure engineering support to operations and foundational teams.
  • Assist with performing root cause analysis to provide guidance to technical leadership regarding future issue prevention.
  • Analyze customer business requirements.
  • Assist with construction, configuration, and maintenance of all facets of an Office 365 Tenant.
  • Execute an end-to-end implementation of the target workloads.
  • Stay informed of emerging cloud and Office 365 technologies.
  • Perform Operations and Maintenance on vSphere environment, Office 365 and Azure AD workloads.
  • Ensure cloud governance standards are met to maintain cloud security and proper controls, end-to-end automation of deployment, and monitoring and infrastructure management in the cloud environment.
Qualifications
  • As a requirement of this position, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. In accordance with 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(2)(C) , we will not consider candidates for this position who do not meet the aforementioned conditions.
  • Must hold active DOD Interim Secret or Secret Clearance
  • DOD 8570 certification compliance (IAT Level II or Higher) (CySA+, SSCP, Security+ CE, CCNA Security or GSEC) is required.
  • Must have the following Operating System (OS) Certification: VMWare certified Professional, MS Azure Fundamental or higher certification.
  • Experience with administration or engineering of vSphere, MS Azure or Office 365 Cloud Environments.
  • 3+ years' experience with systems engineering.
  • Experience with building or deploying cloud applications desired.
  • Working knowledge of Azure cloud infrastructure and Microsoft 365 deployments.
  • Understanding of Azure Active Directory (AAD), cloud networking and server deployment.
  • Familiarity with the following Office 365 tools is desired: Azure Active Directory, Azure Active Directory Federation Service (ADFS), Exchange Online, Exchange Online Protection (EOP), Teams, Intune and other O365 workloads.
  • Must have real-world experience helping to manage and maintain Active Directory, GPO's etc.
  • VMware administration, operations and maintenance experience.
  • Possess working knowledge of vSphere, Azure AD, Intune, Cloud App Security, Conditional Access.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical audiences and provide concise status updates.
  • Detail oriented with excellent debugging, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Self-motivated, innovative, creative, and possess a passion for excellence.
  • Possess the ability to analyze a situation for potential future problems.
  • Extremely responsive, with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Weekend or after-hours support may be required on occasion.
Pay Transparency StatementAMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $110,000.00/Yr. - USD $130,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
