Position Overview We are seeking a Cloud Architect to join an innovative engineering team focused on next-generation private cloud platforms and containerized application modernization. This role will contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including solution design, development, system integration, and testing.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on expertise in Kubernetes, container platforms, and modernizing legacy applications into scalable microservices-based environments.
Key Responsibilities - Design, build, and support private cloud solutions leveraging Kubernetes and container technologies
- Transform legacy or monolithic applications into modern microservices architectures
- Develop scalable data models and supporting architectures for distributed services
- Participate in system design, coding, integration, validation, and testing efforts
- Build and maintain deployment frameworks using Helm and related automation tools
- Configure and optimize container environments using technologies such as Podman and K3s
- Support networking and load balancing within Kubernetes environments using tools such as Calico, Multus, and Kube-Vip
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, reliable, and high-performing cloud solutions
Required Qualifications - Proven experience deploying and managing microservices in Kubernetes environments
- Strong background in application modernization and microservices migration strategies
- Hands-on experience with containerization technologies and orchestration platforms
- Experience using Helm for application packaging and deployments
- Familiarity with Kubernetes networking concepts, CNI plugins, and virtual IP/load balancing solutions
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications - Software development experience with C++ and/or Java
- Experience designing infrastructure and deployment patterns for microservices-based platforms
- Exposure to DevSecOps pipeline implementation within Microsoft Azure
- Experience improving Kubernetes performance, scalability, and network efficiency
Education & Additional Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related STEM discipline; equivalent professional experience may be considered in place of a degree
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
- U.S. Citizenship required
