What You'll Do- Lead and support nursing staff during assigned shifts to ensure safe, high-quality patient care
- Coordinate staffing assignments, patient flow, and daily unit operations
- Serve as a clinical expert, mentor, and resource for nurses and interdisciplinary team members
- Promote Relationship-Based Care and champion an exceptional patient experience
- Round on patients and families, proactively addressing concerns and ensuring care plans are communicated effectively
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, and ancillary departments to optimize patient throughput
- Facilitate timely admissions, transfers, and discharges while supporting hospital capacity initiatives
- Lead shift huddles and participate in bed management and unit-based meetings
- Monitor compliance with clinical documentation, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
- Support quality improvement initiatives, patient safety, and evidence-based practice
- Assist with staff development, performance feedback, and clinical orientation for new team members
- Serve as a leader during emergency situations, utilizing sound clinical judgment and hospital chain-of-command processes
What You'll Bring- Two to five years of acute care Registered Nurse experience
- Previous Charge Nurse experience preferred (required for PACU candidates)
- Strong leadership, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage patient flow, staffing, and daily clinical operations
- Excellent communication, collaboration, conflict resolution, and customer service skills
- Commitment to mentoring staff and fostering a positive, team-oriented work environment
- Ability to meet or obtain Clinical Nurse III (CN III) requirements within 90 days of hire, if applicable
Requirements- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to obtain and maintain an LA City Fire Card within 30 days of hire
- Active participation in a hospital committee or council preferred
- RNC specialty certification preferred
