Full Job Description
The Clinical Strategy Pharmacist is a senior individual contributor responsible for designing, maintaining, and evolving LucyRx's formulary and drug strategy to optimize clinical outcomes, affordability, and client value. This role partners closely with clinical leadership, product, analytics, operations, and client-facing teams to ensure formulary decisions are evidence-based, market-relevant, and operationally executable.

Reporting directly to the SVP of Clinical Strategy & Product, this role plays a critical part in supporting LucyRx's differentiated PBM model-empowered choice, enlightened cost, and elevated care

Role and Responsibilities
  • Lead formulary strategy development, including formulary design, tiering, utilization management approaches, and preferred drug strategies across therapeutic classes
  • Evaluate clinical evidence, guidelines, FDA approvals, and pipeline trends to inform formulary positioning and strategic recommendations
  • Partner with rebate, trade, and analytics teams to assess total cost of care implications and ensure clinically sound, financially responsible decisions
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for P&T materials, clinical reviews, and formulary change documentation
  • Support new product and client implementations by ensuring formulary alignment with benefit design, regulatory requirements, and operational workflows
  • Collaborate with client-facing teams to support employer, consultant, and client discussions related to formulary strategy and clinical trade-offs
  • Monitor market dynamics, competitor formularies, and emerging drug trends to inform proactive strategy evolution
  • Ensure formulary strategies align with LucyRx's broader clinical programs, including biosimilars, specialty management, chronic disease, and value-based initiatives
  • Contribute to governance processes, including internal clinical committees and external advisory engagements as needed


Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • PharmD required; active pharmacist license in good standing
  • 5+ years of experience in PBM, managed care, health plan, or related pharmacy strategy roles
  • Demonstrated experience with formulary development, clinical drug evaluation, and utilization management strategies
  • Strong understanding of PBM economics, rebate dynamics, and drug market trends
  • Experience supporting both commercial and government-regulated populations (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid) preferred
  • Ability to synthesize complex clinical and financial data into clear, actionable recommendations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to senior leaders, consultants, and clients


Preferences
  • Prior experience working closely with product or strategy teams in a high-growth or evolving organization
  • Familiarity with specialty pharmacy, biosimilars, and emerging high-cost therapies
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, remote-first environment with high ownership and accountability

This is a largely sedentary role; however, some standing, walking, bending, and reaching may be required. Regularly operates in an office or home office setting which involves utilizing a computer, mouse, keyboard, and occasionally operates other standard office equipment, such as printer, copier, phone. Travel may be required by either car or airplane, or a combination of multiple modes of transportation.

Salary:

$118,876-$139,307 annually

This position will be based remotely, unless otherwise directed by the Company; however, you should expect to travel for team meetings, client meetings, or other collaboration needs.
