Full Job Description
We are seeking a Pharmacist for our team to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. Did you get into our industry for these reasons? Pharmacist As the Clinical Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include Medication therapy management, including daily multidisciplinary rounds, for the inpatient specialty service line. What you will do in this role: - You will serve as the clinical pharmacy liaison for inpatient solid tumor chemotherapy orders - You will design/write chemotherapy and supportive care (e.g. antiemetic, pain) regimens - You will provide patient education on chemotherapy and supportive care regimens - Your role provides clinical services and drug information to patients, physicians, nurses and other pharmacists - You role completes pharmacy consults/clinical interventions, stewardship of appropriate utilization of medications, integrated operational support, and departmental leadership as required by the position - You will work closely with multidisciplinary team - You will assist in the training, education, and professional development of pharmacists, residents, students, technicians, nurses and medical staff - You will serve as a preceptor for both PGY1 and PGY2 residents, participate in resident projects, medication use evaluations, and teaching opportunities such as topic discussions and journal clubs. - You will serve as a primary preceptor for PGY2 oncology resident - You will develop appropriate, safe, and cost-effective drug therapy protocols and policies - You will assist in medication formulary management and compliance - You will perform other duties as assigned What qualifications you will need: - PGY-2 Oncology preferred and/or 4 years of equivalent experience - Active Tennessee pharmacist license in good standing or will obtain license within reasonable time - Will obtain and maintain certification in related area of specialty within 2 years, if not already certified - Will obtain and maintain BLS and ACLS certification within 1 year - Interpersonal skills and emphatic communication abilities to successfully interact with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals TriStar Horizon Medical Center is an accredited, 150+ bed regional medical center. We offer a full array of services. These include cardiology and diagnostic imaging. These include emergency, inpatient rehabilitation. Also including oncology, orthopedics, and women's services. We are an Accredited Chest Pain Center and a Primary Stroke Center. TriStar Horizon is a leading provider of emergency heart and stroke care. Our satellite campus, TriStar Natchez, offers imaging and oncology services. They offer a 24/7, full-service ER that provides the same services as our main campus emergency room.
