Full Job Description
Position Summary

Provides compassionate, direct clinical social work services to a designated caseload of patients and families, including psychosocial assessment, care planning, counseling, and coordination of services. Collaborates with the multidisciplinary care team to support patient outcomes, facilitate continuity of care, and connect families with appropriate community resources. This role also provides coverage during absences, vacancies, and on-call assignments as needed.

Qualifications

Education

Master of Social Work (MSW) from an accredited school of social work required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of biopsychosocial, cultural, and behavioral health factors in social work practice.
  • Knowledge of social work systems, procedures, and organizational objectives.
  • Familiarity with community resources and the current healthcare environment.
  • Ability to collect, synthesize, and interpret relevant data to support patient care decisions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong assessment, problem-solving, and care planning skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare setting.
  • Ability to identify barriers to care and recommend improvements to patient services.

Licensure/Certification

Must be licensed by the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners at the LMSW level.

Exceptions: Individuals licensed in another state or with comparable credentials in another jurisdiction may be considered if they meet Board requirements and have either:
  • A pending license application, or
  • Successfully passed the required examination(s).

Experience

Minimum of 1 year of clinical social work experience in a healthcare or mental health setting preferred; internship experience may be considered.

Salary Range: Minimum 34.62/hour - Maximum 57.19/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
