Full Job Description
Programmable Medicine Operating Company, a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company located in Redwood City, is seeking a contract Project Manager with the potential to convert to a FTE. The position will require the individual to work on site 3 days per week. Programmable Medicine is focused on developing novel nanomedicines, HD therapeutics (HDTs), to treat unmet medical needs in ophthalmology, neurology, inflammatory diseases, and neuro-oncology. Our HD platform builds therapeutics that are selectively taken up only by inflamed tissues, allowing us to treat diseases with unprecedented precision.

Duties and Responsibilities - Essential Functions

The candidate will support cross-functional teams for both partnered and internal research programs from discovery through early clinical development. Demonstrated project management experience in R&D, preclinical and in depth knowledge in CMC is required. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

o Partner with cross functional leads (medicinal chemistry, non-clinical, & CMC) to develop and drive tactical planning, program budget preparation and management as well as prepare accurate program updates for senior management.

o Leads and facilitates cross-functional project team meetings with an efficient and structured approach to ensure successful execution. Generates and disseminates meeting minutes which accurately capture key decisions, open issues and action items. Follows up on status of task and action item execution both within and outside of meetings, and updates project documentation (project timeline, meeting minutes) accordingly.

o Proactively identifies any technical/resource issues, concerns or challenges of assigned projects; develops action plans to address open issues, including escalation to key partners and stakeholder

o Interface with external partners and facilitate joint development efforts.

o Alliance management and serve as the point of contact with partners.

o Applies Programmable Medicine operating principles (Quality, Speed, and Cost) to daily work; acts with a sense of urgency and leads by example.

o Develop and maintain project timelines based on input from cross-functional teams; work collaboratively with functional leads to manage critical path activities

Job Requirements

o Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or a related scientific field discipline o 5 years of relevant biopharmaceutical experience with at least 3 years project management experience in a cross-functional drug development or team role is required

o Must be able to work on site at our Redwood City facility, 3 days per week.

o Solid project management fundamentals: planning, scheduling, risk/issue management, stakeholder communication, and meeting facilitation

o Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external vendors/partners to drive results and meet company objectives

o Direct project management experience in a therapeutic drug development setting in neurology, inflammatory diseases, or oncology.

o Experience with industry-standard project management timeline and tracking tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, OnePager)

o Alliance Management or external collaboration experience is a plus

o Familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA regulations), technical (CMC) requirements, and clinical study execution

o PMP or equivalent project management certification is a plus

o Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and contractors to drive results and meet company objectives

o Excellent organization and time management/multi-tasking skills (comfortable in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment,).

o Self-directed and proactive with ability to function in a team-based environment, exercise good judgment and respond quickly and effectively to changing environments

o Proven ability to effectively manage conflicts and negotiations while providing impact and influence

There is the potential for the position to be converted to a regular full time position where the individual will be eligible to participate in our comprehensive total compensation package including fully paid medical, dental and vision benefits for you and your family. If the position was to be converted to a full time position the salary range would be $135,000 - $155,000 annually. We consider various factors when determining the base compensation, including market survey data, experience, qualifications, and geographic location, which means that the actual compensation may vary.
