CORE JOB SUMMARY
The Clinical Program Manager assists in the support of various clinical programs. The Clinical Program Manager supports their leader with managing assigned program components, preparing clinical documentation, and preparing reports. The Clinical Program Manager exercises considerable independent judgment and discretion in managing and carrying out daily activities while adhering to policies and procedures.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Directs and coordinates assignments for program operations.
2. Evaluates office production, revises procedures, and devises new forms to improve efficiency and workflow.
3. Manages clinical operation and quality assurance procedures.
4. Implements projects and procedures to ensure program performance is exceeding expectations.
5. Assesses needs within the organization and develops clinical programs to meet those needs.
6. Maintains required records and reports statistics for administrative, quality assurance, and safety and control purposes.
7. Coordinates the development, implementation, and evaluation of departmental or program area policies and procedures designed to improve operational efficiency.
8. May oversee various personnel actions, including but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, termination, and other related activities.
9. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

DEPARTMENT-SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS

Sylvester Design and Management of Cancer Clinical Trials Course (DMCTC)
  • Manage logistics related to continuing education (CME, CNE, and certificates of participation for clinical research professionals), including CE applications, required documentation, speaker disclosures, reporting for live course and enduring materials, and tasks within the CloudCME platform.
  • Act as speaker liaison: collect speaker materials, disclosures, and presentations; process speaker fees.
  • Deploy course evaluation surveys and analyze feedback to inform future iterations of the course.
  • Monitor DMCTC inbox and respond to questions in a timely manner.
  • Assist with course promotion.
  • Track registration and participation and provide regular reports.
  • Perform tasks within the DMCTC virtual platform.
  • Provide technical support and resolve operation problems during the live course and throughout the year.
  • Develop SOPs and templates to facilitate course expansion.


Sylvester Faculty Development Program (FDP)
  • Collaborate with Cancer Center leadership to identify and support needs of early-career clinical faculty.
  • Help early-career physicians navigate the process to develop and activate investigator-initiated trials.
  • Develop strategies to increase junior clinical faculty engagement in FDP activities.
  • Track outcomes to evaluate both program and junior faculty success.
  • Provide data and reports as requested.
