Responsibilities

BHC Houston is looking for a Clinical Program Director. The Clinical Program Director provides senior-level clinical and operational leadership for all clinical and call center staff, exercising substantial independent judgment and critical decision-making authority. This role is responsible for leading, mentoring, and managing multidisciplinary teams-including mobile and tele-video assessors, referral management, and call center personnel-while ensuring high-quality clinical performance, regulatory compliance, and accountability.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • The Clinical Program Director drives continuous improvement, supports staff development, and ensures consistent delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centered care.
  • Independently evaluates complex and time-sensitive clinical and operational situations, makes high-risk decisions regarding patient triage and appropriate levels of care, and resolves escalated clinical, staffing, and performance issues.
  • Analytical Skills to evaluate data and identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to enhance effciency and quality of care. Strong problem solving abilities to address challenges and make informed decisions.
  • Provides comprehensive clinical supervision and strategic leadership over the mobile and tele-video assessment and therapy teams, including evaluators, referral management functions, and Clinical Leads, ensuring clinical quality, workflow efficiency, and adherence to organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Oversees the daily scheduling and deployment of MAT assessors to ensure appropriate, responsive, and consistent coverage for all contracted clients while balancing census demands, acuity, and staffing resources.
  • While this position is mostly remote, there will be days and times you have to attend meetings, trainings, and orientations in person.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Minimum Bachelors Degree in Nursing. Preferred Social Work, Psycology, Counseling, Behavioral Health or related field.

Licensure and Certification:
Meets current state requirements licensed in the State where BHC is providing services as LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LMSW, or APC, RN.

CPR, if required by client contracts.

EXPERIENCE:

Required 3 to 5 years of experience. Preferably five or more years' experience in a intake assessment activities within an acute psychiatric setting and experience in health care business, business development/marketing environment with measurable business development results is preferred.
