Position Summary

Department: Pharmacy Services

Advance Patient Care Through Clinical Excellence

Orlando Health is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacy Specialist to provide advanced clinical pharmacy services and leadership within our Pharmacy Services team. This role combines direct patient care, interdisciplinary collaboration, education, and program development to support optimal medication therapy outcomes and improve the quality of care delivered to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of clinical pharmacy services.
  • Provide expert pharmacotherapy and pharmacokinetic consultations to physicians and healthcare teams.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary providers to optimize medication use and patient outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain clinical policies, procedures, guidelines, and pharmacy programs.
  • Monitor and document clinical activities to support accreditation and quality initiatives.
  • Participate in patient care rounds, committee activities, and performance improvement projects.
  • Support the education and training of pharmacists, pharmacy residents, students, and interns.
  • Promote evidence-based practice through continuous professional development and clinical leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory standards, and best practices.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required.
  • Must meet one of the following:
    • Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 and PGY2 residency or fellowship in a specialty area.
    • Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency plus one year of specialty practice experience.
    • Five (5) years of clinical pharmacy experience relevant to the specialty area.
  • Current pharmacist licensure or eligibility for licensure as required by state regulations.
  • Strong clinical knowledge, communication, leadership, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
