Assistant Vice President (Orlando Health) & Chief Medical Officer (ORMC)

Position Summary

Orlando Health is seeking a dynamic physician leader to serve as Assistant Vice President, Orlando Health & Chief Medical Officer for Orlando Regional Medical Center. This executive leadership role is responsible for ensuring evidence-based practice standards, clinical protocols, and strategic direction are in place to support the highest quality and efficiency of patient care. The AVP & Chief Medical Officer provides leadership, collaboration, and coaching to hospital staff while fostering strong partnerships between physicians, medical staff leadership, and hospital administration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary liaison between hospital administration and the medical staff to promote collaboration and alignment.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance patient care quality and outcomes.
  • Represent physician perspectives to hospital leadership and support effective medical staff governance.
  • Oversee medical staff operations, including credentialing and privileging activities.
  • Partner with quality and operational leaders to advance compliance, patient safety, and clinical excellence.
  • Participate in hospital committees, quality improvement initiatives, and strategic planning efforts.
  • Support the development and implementation of new clinical programs and services.
  • Collaborate with physician leaders and hospital executives to achieve organizational goals related to quality, service, and financial performance.

Requirements

Education/Training
  • M.D. degree required
  • Licensure as M.D. in the State of Florida

Experience
  • Work requires a minimum of five (5) years' experience as a physician leader with successful experience in guiding multidisciplinary clinical program activities.
  • Requires excellent communication skills with a demonstrated track record in fostering collaboration and building consensus to achieve collective objectives.
  • Experience with and appreciation of community-based hospital practice.
