Qualifications

Responsibilities

Full Job Description
Location: Neonatal Care Center

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm

General Purpose of job:

The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for the implementation and provision of clinical pharmacy services to improve and enhance patient care. This position serves the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
  • Makes patient care rounds with multi-disciplinary healthcare team in the assigned areas to provide pharmaceutical care.
  • Works closely with all members of the care team to assure safe and efficient delivery of patient care.
  • Coordinates medication delivery for patients.
  • Coordinates automated dispensing cabinet maintenance for designated areas.
  • Acts as a liaison between the pharmacy and the medical and nursing staff for issues pertaining to clinical pharmacy services.
  • Serves as a preceptor for Pharmacy Residents and students on rotations at Driscoll Children's Hospital.
  • Performs a variety of activities and duties as assigned to meet the routine and urgent needs the department.


Requirements:
  • BS in Pharmacy or PharmD, plus a pharmacy residency; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current licensure either by reciprocity or examination by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Neonatal/Pediatric and Hospital experience strongly preferred.
