Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical pharmacy services to optimize patient-specific pharmaceutical care
  • Monitors medication use and therapies in oncology patients
  • Applies pharmaceutical care processes specifically for oncology and hematology
  • Prepares and verifies chemotherapy medications and ensures safety protocols are followed
  • Develops effective relationships with physicians and nursing staff
  • Engages in quality improvement initiatives related to medication practices
  • Helps design medication use protocols tailored to the oncology specialty

Full Job Description
Responsibilities

Provides clinical pharmacy services including but not limited to assessment, monitoring and optimization of patient specific pharmaceutical care.   Serves as a departmental and organizational resource in area(s) of expertise and provides educational programming and staff development to physicians, pharmacists, nurses and other practitioners in assigned specialty area.  Serves all patient populations including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.

 

Oncology Pharmacy Clinician

  • Performs duties of a clinical pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical care to Oncology patients.
  • Monitors all aspects of medication use in the Oncology population.
  • Applies the pharmaceutical care process to care for and treat oncology and hematology patients.
  • Prepares and/or checks preparation of chemotherapy and applies chemotherapy safety program to chemotherapeutic medications.
  • Develops and maintains effective working relationships with key physicians and nursing personnel in service area.
  • Participates in quality initiatives including evaluation and analysis of medication use practices.
  • Assists in development of medication use protocols specific to area of practice.
  • Qualifications

    REQUIRED

     

  • Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Active Georgia Pharmacist license
  • Two (2) years clinical pharmacy experience.
  •  

    PREFERRED

     

  • ASHP- Accredited Post Graduate Year 1 and 2 Residency or Fellowship or equivalent experience in the specialty area.
  • Relevant Pharmacy Specialty Board certification is preferred.
  • Work Hours:0700-1530
