- Experience in hospital pharmacy or infusion/sterile compounding preferred
- BS in Pharmacy required
- Current Louisiana Pharmacist License required
- Knowledge of USP , sterile compounding, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition
- Ability to interpret physician orders, monitor therapies, and collaborate with providers
- Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to regulatory compliance, patient safety, and continuous quality improvement
What You Will Do:Fills orders for medications, monitors patient drug therapies, and provides drug information while ensuring safe, effective, and compliant pharmaceutical care for infusion patients. Supervises pharmacy support personnel and supports departmental operations.
- Prepare, compound, and dispense medications including sterile products, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition in accordance with established policies and USP standards
- Review, verify, and interpret physician medication orders (CPOE, verbal, and written) and maintain accurate patient medication profiles
- Monitor patient drug therapy for appropriateness, interactions, allergies, and adverse reactions; recommend therapeutic alternatives when appropriate
- Provide clinical consultation and drug information to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Document clinical interventions, medication use evaluations, and quality improvement activities
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards related to pharmacy practice
- Support automation systems, data reporting, and technology initiatives within pharmacy operations
- Supervise, guide, and verify work of pharmacy technicians to ensure timely and accurate service delivery
- Participate in audits, medication storage inspections, and regulatory compliance activities
- Maintain licensure, competencies, and participate in ongoing education, staff meetings, and departmental initiatives
