The Clinical Nursing Supervisor supports the administrative and operational functions of the nursing department, working collaboratively with the Unit Director and/or Manager to ensure high-quality patient care and efficient departmental operations. In the absence of the Director or Manager, the Clinical Supervisor may assume full administrative responsibility for the unit, providing leadership, guidance, and decision-making to maintain smooth operations.

Responsibilities
  • Develops and implements departmental plans, including performance improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.

  • Prepares, conducts, and oversees orientation and training for departmental staff.

  • Communicates effectively with staff, physicians, and administration both verbally and in writing.

  • Oversees quality of care and staff performance during their shift, directing personnel as needed.

  • Assists the Department Director in daily operations, supervising and evaluating staff, and ensuring efficient use of time, equipment, and resources.

  • Performs direct patient care as needed within the scope of practice, continually assessing care and directing staff to adjust plans promptly.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Current and valid California Registered Nurse license2. Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.3. Current Basic Life Support certificate (BLS) upon hire and maintain current.4. Minimum of three year of Charge Nurse or equivalent experience preferred.5. Based on areas the following may be required:

a. Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) upon hire and maintain current b. Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) upon hire and maintain current c. Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) upon hire and maintain current d. Current Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certificate upon hire and maintain current

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $42.37 per hour to $54.60 per hour. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
