Clinical Nurse Manager, (RN) - Outpatient Wound Care Clinic

Full-time Opportunity

Aiken Regional Medical Centers, located in Aiken, South Carolina, is a 273-bed acute care facility providing quality healthcare to the residents of Aiken and surrounding communities. Aiken Regional Medical Centers has been ranked a top hospital in South Carolina by the Carolina Center for Medical Excellence for its treatment of heart attack, heart failure and pneumonia. Services provided at the hospital include emergency medical care, orthopedic surgeries, maternity, and behavioral health services. Aiken Regional is proud to be a teaching facility that supports local nursing students through our dedicated and tenured nursing team.

The Nurse Manager is responsible for the coordination of clinical activities of the Wound Care Center including use of organizational skills, leadership, planning, implementing, evaluating, and providing patient care through the use of hospital and nursing standards. The Nurse Manager ensures clinical practice is evidence-based and closely aligned with the goals of our physician partners. In addition, the Nurse Manager will promote a positive working environment and create a culture of safety for their nursing staff and patients.

Duties:
  • Performs wound assessment accurately and promptly, including assessment of pain.
  • Recognizes and provides ongoing assessment of any change in patient condition.
  • Monitors, recognizes, and reports abnormal test results.
  • Assesses patient/family educational needs and expectations.
  • Evaluates plan of care and makes changes to meet the ongoing needs of the patient.
  • Develops an individual plan of care based on assessment parameters.
  • Prioritizes routine and emergency care based on the ongoing assessment of the patient.
  • Provides accurate information for continuity of care, through a report.
  • Reports abnormal assessment findings promptly.
  • Implements the interventions from the plan of care.
  • Documents system assessment, nursing interventions, and patient response accurately and appropriately.
  • Documents medication administration promptly and accurately.
  • Documents all pertinent variances from the plan of care.
  • Documents appropriately for transfer of patient care inter- and intra-agency. Including the current COBRA/EMTALA guidelines.
  • Performs treatments/procedures and/or cares for patients with conditions not listed above after appropriate education/orientation.
  • Assists with performance evaluations for clinical staff.
  • Provides direct supervision to clinical staff, and serves as resource to them.
  • Organizes and prioritizes all clinical responsibilities.
  • Collaborates with management and Medical Director regarding patient and clinic needs, achievement of quality indicators, and coordination of program budgetary and financial objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

BSN required, Masters degree preferred.

Minimum of five years nursing experience required. Previous leadership experience required, managements experience preferred.

Current South Carolina RN license. BLS and ACLS required.

Knowledge of human resource management, program development, fiscal management skills, and familiarity with regulatory and accrediting agency standards needed.
