Responsible for organizing and managing the patient care delivery and team members on a specific patient care unit for the total numbers of hours that the unit is operational. The clinical coordinator is responsible for leading daily operations of a specific unit including the human, physical environment, supplies, resources, and services to ensure efficient quality patient experience and care in collaboration with the Director. Provides any special skills/knowledge base related to the patient mix of the unit/special functions of the unit. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her assigned unit or within his/her department including knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. 80% managerial / 20% clinical (may vary depending on span of control & number of CC/unit managers)
Education Requirements:- Current and valid Registered nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or from a state that is part of a Compact agreement with Virginia
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing
- Masters Degree in Nursing preferred
- Annual education for unit-specific and hospital skills
- Annual education per hospital certifications
- BLS
- ACLS/PALS if required for team members in specific unit
Experience Requirements:- Minimum of one year experience in an acute inpatient setting.
- Minimum of three years' experience in specialty units.
