Full Job Description
Reporting directly to the Nursing Director for Ambulatory Cardiology, the Clinical Manager - RN is responsible for providing clinical leadership and administrative oversight in an outpatient area. Works as a partner to lead professional nursing practice at the medical center. Leads efforts to improve performance and ensure fiscal responsibility. Maintains current professional knowledge and competencies.

Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities:
1. May have direct patient care responsibility as determined by the program.
2. Provides oversight of all nursing functions within the Division/Department. Participates in the planning and implementation of division goals, objectives, programs, personnel, resources and equipment. Identifies and implements operational and quality program improvements. Continually updates clinical knowledge and skills through consultation, formal and informal education, and review of literature for self and support team
3. Responsible for recruitment, hiring, training and retention of nursing staff; coordinates work and vacation schedules; processes payroll; performs annual performance reviews; conducts regular staff meeting; works with administration to ensure the smooth running of the unit. Provides cross-coverage within the department as needed.
4. Responsible for budgeting, salary and wage expenditures, volume/revenue production, space, equipment planning and supply chain within the scope of service.
5. Oversees the development, implementation and coordination of clinical pathways, guidelines and protocols in collaboration with the physicians and clinical leaders in the department.
6. Works with team members to oversee the entire patient clinical experience to assure coordination, consolidation and execution of patient care plans through all phases of the specialty service.
7. .Has the direct responsibility to undertake the following employment actions: hiring, termination, corrective action and performance reviews. Direct Reports: More than 7 Indirect Reports:

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Nursing required. Master's degree preferred.
2. License Registered Nurse Required., and American Heart Association - Basic Life Support Certificate required.
3. 3-5 years related work experience required and 0-1 years supervisory/management experience required
4. Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, and Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases.

5. Oral Communications: Ability to verbally communicate complex concepts in English and address sensitive situations, resolve conflicts, negotiate, motivate and persuade others.
6. Knowledge: Ability to demonstrate broad and comprehensive knowledge of theories, concepts, practices and policies with the ability to use them in complex and/or unprecedented situations across multiple functional areas.
7. Team Work: Ability to act as a team leader for small projects or work groups, creating a collaborative and respectful team environment and improving workflows. Results may impact the operations of one or more departments.
8. Customer Service: Ability to lead operational initiatives to meet or exceed customer service standards and expectations in assigned unit(s) and/or across multiple areas in a timely and respectful manner.

Age based Competencies: Employees in this job must be competent to provide patient care to the following age groups: Young adult: 16-30 years, Middle Age: 30 - 60 years, Elderly: 60 - over.

Social/Environmental Requirements:
1. Work requires close attention to task for work to be accurately completed. Intermittent breaks during the work day do not compromise the work.
2. Work routine is fairly consistent, but employee needs to be able to use judgment to respond to events several times a week.
3. Potential exposure to adverse environmental conditions
4. Several times a month: Protective equipment required (Respirator,earplugs,mask,gloves,eyewear etc), Potential exposure to infectious diseases and/or airborne pathogens, Potential exposure to infectious diseases and/or blood borne pathogens.
5. Health Care Status: HCW1: Regular, day-to-day contact; both face-to-face and hands-on (having close contact within three feet for at least five minutes). Examples: physicians, clinical nurses, phlebotomist, medical assistants, PFT tech, and x-ray tech.- Health Care Worker Status may vary by department

Physical Requirements:
Very Heavy work: Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 50 pounds of force continually. Employee is physically active in all elements of the job.
This job requires constant Endurance-working up to 3-4 hours without a break, frequent sitting, walking, standing, bending neck, bending waist, twisting neck, twisting waist, Keyboard use, Pull up and/or reposition patient weighing up to 250 pounds with assistance. There may be occasional Power Grasping using both hands, Fine Manipulation using both hands, Pushing/Pulling using both hands, Reaching-above shoulder height, Reaching-below shoulder height. Rarely there may be maintain crouch for > 5 minutes, Repetition crouch (>2
times/minutes), Lifting and carrying items weighing up to 10 lbs, Lifting and carrying items weighing up to 25 lbs., Pull up and/or reposition patient weighing up to 100 pounds without assistance, Pushing items weighing up to or more than 100 lbs.', Push a wheelchair or wheeled bed containing a patient weighing up to 250 pounds, with assistance.

Pay Range:
$150,000.00 USD - $220,000.00 USD

The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
